The High Spot Labs LLC — Alpharetta, Georgia
Full-Time | Onsite | $75,000–$90,000 Base Salary + Performance Incentives
The High Spot Labs is a newly established, state-of-the-art digital dental laboratory located in Alpharetta, Georgia. Founded by a practicing dentist, our laboratory is built around exceptional craftsmanship, advanced digital technology, and a commitment to producing highly esthetic, precise restorations.
With an established foundation of restorative cases from an affiliated fee-for-service dental practice, our laboratory is positioned for growth as we expand services to additional dental offices.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Dental Lab Technician / Master Ceramist who is passionate about restorative dentistry and interested in playing a foundational role in building a high-quality dental laboratory.
This is more than a traditional production position. The right candidate will have significant autonomy, direct collaboration with the founding dentist, and the opportunity to help shape the laboratory's production systems, quality standards, and future growth.
The Lead Dental Lab Technician will oversee and perform fixed restorative production, including digital design, milling, ceramic finishing, and final quality control.
Initially, this individual will serve as the laboratory's primary technical expert, helping establish efficient workflows and ensure consistently exceptional restorative outcomes.
As production volume increases, the position offers opportunities to transition into a broader laboratory management role, including training and supervising additional technicians.
Independently manage fixed restorative cases from digital design through final fabrication and finishing.
Design and produce zirconia crowns and bridges, lithium disilicate restorations, veneers, and other fixed prosthetics.
Perform high-quality ceramic layering, contouring, staining, glazing, and characterization.
Operate and troubleshoot CAD/CAM design software, milling machines, sintering furnaces, and associated laboratory equipment.
Establish efficient, repeatable digital production workflows.
Maintain rigorous quality standards for marginal fit, contacts, occlusion, anatomy, shade, and esthetics.
Collaborate directly with dentists regarding case planning, restorative materials, shade selection, and complex cases.
Manage daily case scheduling, production priorities, and turnaround times.
Assist with equipment implementation, calibration, and production optimization.
Contribute to the hiring, training, and supervision of additional technicians as the laboratory grows.
Required
Extensive hands-on experience in fixed dental laboratory restorations.
Strong proficiency in zirconia and lithium disilicate fabrication and finishing.
Advanced understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, restorative esthetics, and material selection.
Experience with digital CAD/CAM workflows and the ability to independently manage production.
Excellent ceramic contouring, staining, glazing, and characterization skills.
Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and maintain consistent production quality.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of laboratory operations.
Preferred
Five or more years of professional dental laboratory experience.
Advanced anterior ceramic and veneer experience.
Experience with full-arch restorations.
Previous lead technician, training, or laboratory management experience.
Certified Dental Technician (CDT) designation.
Experience implementing new digital workflows or commissioning laboratory equipment.
We offer a competitive compensation structure designed to reward technical excellence, productivity, and long-term contributions to laboratory success.
Base Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Performance Incentives: Additional compensation tied to production performance, laboratory growth, and operational objectives.
Total Compensation Potential: Exceeding $100,000 annually for a highly productive technician meeting established performance goals.
Career Advancement: Opportunity to grow into a laboratory production management position as the business expands.
Professional Autonomy: Meaningful input into production workflows, materials, processes, and equipment utilization.
Modern Work Environment: Newly established laboratory with advanced digital production equipment.
Unlike a traditional high-volume production laboratory, The High Spot Labs emphasizes quality, precision, craftsmanship, and close collaboration between dentist and technician.
Our goal is to build a laboratory where technicians take pride in their work, have the tools necessary to produce exceptional restorations, and are rewarded for contributing to the success of the business.
For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to help build a growing laboratory rather than simply fill a production position.
Interested candidates should submit a resume outlining their experience with fixed restorations, digital laboratory workflows, and ceramic fabrication.
A portfolio or photographs of completed restorative work, particularly anterior esthetic cases, is strongly encouraged.
