We are seeking an experienced and motivated Removable Department Manager to lead our removable prosthetics team and help drive the future of digital dentistry within our laboratory.

Position Summary

The Removable Department Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the removable department, including quality control, workflow management, team leadership, technical support, and continuous process improvement. This individual will work closely with dentists, laboratory technicians, and leadership to ensure high-quality products, efficient production, and outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate has strong removable dental laboratory experience, enjoys mentoring others, embraces innovation, and is excited about the growing role of digital workflows in removable dentistry.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the removable department team.
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain accountability for quality, productivity, and professionalism.
  • Train and mentor team members on techniques, materials, and best practices.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture aligned with company values.

Quality Control

  • Oversee quality assurance for all removable cases prior to delivery.
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure cases meet established standards for fit, function, and esthetics.
  • Collaborate with technicians and doctors to resolve complex case challenges.

Workflow & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate department workflows and implement improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor case turnaround times and production schedules.
  • Identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve productivity and reduce remakes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the laboratory.

Technical Support & Client Communication

  • Serve as a technical resource for doctors and team members.
  • Assist clients with case planning, troubleshooting, and product recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively regarding case requirements, expectations, and outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships that position DCS as a trusted clinical partner.

Digital Workflow Development

  • Support and promote the adoption of digital removable workflows.
  • Stay current on industry trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Learn and implement digital workflows if not already experienced in this area.

Qualifications

  • Previous dental laboratory experience in removable prosthetics required.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dentures, partials, implant overdentures, and related removable products.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with digital removable workflows preferred, but willingness to learn is required.
