Dental Lab Technician III (Implant Tech)

We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Nelson Dental Lab in Rochester Hills, MI, for a Dental Lab Technician III. 

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.
  • Perform primary and secondary steps of implant fabrication.
  • Load impressions with implant parts.
  • Check model work for proper analog placement.
  • Order implant parts for cases, as needed.
  • Adjust abutments with a hand piece and anodize abutments, as required.
  • Case plan for implant cases with doctors and internal team members.
  • Design CAD/CAM abutments and bars on in-house systems, Nobel, Straumann, and 3Shape.
  • Maintain implant parts inventory.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong ability to read, listen, comprehend, retain, and execute on written and verbal instructions.
  • High level of organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • This technician has a minimum of 5 years of experience and is skilled in one or more of the skills associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • Hand-piece / instruments.
  • Additional related materials or equipment, as required.
  • Personal protective equipment, as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to life up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.
  • Fine motor skills and ability to perform repetitive motions.
  • Vision capabilities, including depth perception, attention to detail, and color.
